We are currently working with the relevant museums of Scotland and England, in photographing all past uniforms of the Scottish Regiments, these dating from around the middle of the 17th century to the present day. This will give us a definite timeline, in order that we might properly explain our history and the story of Scotland’s proud military past.
Since photography is a relatively new medium, dating from around the middle of the 19th century, records prior to this time exist mainly in the form of hand-written notes, also sketches and paintings. When put together, these pieces provide a comprehensive record, particularly when compared with the sheer volume of artefacts our predecessors left behind: the uniforms, weapons and accoutrements of the soldiers themselves. By adding a full photographic record of all the uniforms, we will be adding to this illustrated history, in the very best way we can.
Lest We Forget
We must ensure that future generations never forget the sacrifices our soldiers made, in order that Scotland may be free. This is their story.
